Nebraska Cornhusker themed bartop
« on: July 13, 2008, 06:42:12 pm »
I've been seeing alot of collegiate type cabs around here lately so I decided to make my own before the football season starts this fall.

It's made out of mostly scraps, spares and stuff I got from dumpster diving (plus a few new parts). All-in-all I spent less than $100 on it. And I learned alot!

A few things left to do of course but it's mostly done. What do ya think?

I should also give a big thanks to Spystyle for his help on the software side of this. IMHO one the best contributors to this site!

A Husker bartop is next on my list.  I have a buddy that always has us over for the games so I was going to build him a bartop as a thank you.  Looks good, you might want to get some vinyl button labels from pongo for the buttons on the right.  Go Huskers, looking forward to the start of the Pelini era 4 years late.

Thanks for the compliments!

The buttons are C1 & Start on top. The ones on the side are Pause, Enter & Exit. And the ones by the Joy are just player buttons 1 2 & 3.

I think I have some vinyl stickers around here somewhere and I plan to put them on shortly.

The more I look at it the more I think I may have over-done-it with the artwork, but oh well. Most of my fam & buds liked it before I even painted or trimmed it  ;D

And Brock, all I can say is GO BO!

P1 166mhz cpu with 32mb ram and 500mb HD, ISA soundblaster 2530 and I can't remember but some kind of 2mb PCI vid card. Using Spystyles boot Cd and about 100 games. 15'' de-cased pc monitor and whatever PSU was in the tower I took it out of. Oh, and a couple of 80mm case fans back and top. Although it doesn't get too hot inside.  :P

Dana,

It's awesome man! If I had a bar, I'd be making one of these for sure.

Thank-you. My kids just love playing Track & Field on it.

I don't get to "christen" it Sat nite as I get to go to the game, but that's an OK trade in my book   ;D
