After I posted this, I looked it up on Snopes.  That was a commercial for a Bluetooth headset from overseas from what I read.  There was someone off camera tossing the popcorn down, and they were removing the unpopped kernels digitally.

Sure, but do they deserve what happens to them?  At some point we're going to have to stop saying "now dumbass kids will try it" to every video that gets posted on the internet.

Yeah, I knew it was fake as soon as it was first mentioned.  I even tried to re-enact it myself with some friends and not shockingly, nothing happened.

Edit:  Oh good lord my brain hurts from reading the comments on that site.  I can't believe how completely stupid some of these people are.  They feel that they know EVERYTHING about science and physics and try coming across as complete geniuses.  That's the sad thing when somebody learns a little bit of a topic and thinks they are now subject matter experts.  I got a headache reading the parts where they said the radiation from an atomic bomb is the same as the radiation given off by a cell-phone.  I really hate ignorant people.  (I don't hate stupid people.  There's nothing wrong with not knowing something.  It's when someone doesn't know anything and they try and convince people that they it all).
