Custom controller set up for Mame W/samuria shodown
« on: May 30, 2008, 09:32:23 am »
hey guys,

I have been trying to figure this out with no luck.  Is it possible to configure the control set up to for the 3 button pow explode (abc) to mapped to one button, ie PS2 contoller type button L1? and BCD to L2?

I would also like to do this for SFA as well for the lvl 3 specials. L1=all 3 punches, L2=all 3 Kickes

Anyone had any success with this?

Thanks!

You should be able to, just map the key in mame to your primary button, then hit enter to map it again to your shoulder button.

Make all three buttons this way to be mapped to their unique key, and the shoulder key, and voila, when you hit the shoulder, it should register as all three buttons.

Thanks for the tip. Though I didn't ask the question, I couldn't think of the answer. As soon as you said it, I was like, "Oh....DUUUUUUUH!!!"

Massive,

Let me see if I have this right.

So I would first go to Button 1 (a), hit square, then hit L1?  then Button 2 (b) hit Triangle, then L1, then Button 3 (c) hit "x", then L1?

Is that right?

Massive,

Let me see if I have this right.

So I would first go to Button 1 (a), hit square, then hit L1?  then Button 2 (b) hit Triangle, then L1, then Button 3 (c) hit "x", then L1?

Is that right?

Pretty much, but technically you need to do it like this:
A) Select Button 1
B) Enter
C) Square
D) Wait for mame to accept the input and highlight the button again
E) Enter
F) L1
G) Select Button 2
H) Go to B... etc....

If you press Square and L1 without letting it assign it in between it will assign the 2 buttons with an "And" operator, not an "Or" operator.  And Or is what you want.

It should look similar to this if you did it right:
Button 1:  J1 Button 3 or J1 Button 7

Notice the OR in there.
