S-Video to Component = Blue display?
« on: May 04, 2008, 08:21:24 am »
My pc is connected to my tv with a s-video to component cable.  It's a ATI 9800 graphics card.  The image I get is very blue-ish, any idea why?  I've tried changing settings, changing from PAL to NTSC etc.  When I connect it through composite the display is fine, but obviously I want to go for the better option.  Here's a screenie:

Why not just connect it s-video to s-video? The picture won't improve since your source isn't component.

The tv I'm using only has composite and component inputs.  :(

Just to be sure... you have the S-Video and three component RCAs, right?  Red, Green, and Blue?  And on the tv, same thing; Red, Green, and Blue...?

And they're all hooked up, right?  Hopefully this doesn't sound like a dumb question, but you're sure you have component (R,G,B) in and not composite (Yellow, Red, and White-the red and white obviously being audio).

I'm hoping that you don't composite and have the Blue going into your Yellow (composite) RCA in, and your Red and Green going into the audio.  That's honestly what this looks like.
