Gauntlet Legends
« on: April 23, 2008, 10:19:09 pm »
Upon searching the forum and not finding an answer i thought i would ask. What is the best MAME to play Gauntlet legends. It may not  be possible on my system for i am using a pentium 3 processor with 256 mb of ram so i highly doubt i can even play.

With a P3 you won't be playing Gauntlet Legends in MAME, DC Emulation, or PS1 emulation. If you really want to play it in a cab it will take more horsepower and RAM, a Dreamcast, or a PS1/PS2

I am running a Intel Quad Core with 4gigs of ram and 2 Nvidia 8800 GTX's and I still can't run that game at a good speed. I don't think any emulator or computer will run the arcade version that great at this moment in time. I agree with Goz get the PS2 or Dreamcast version that both look and play good.

How is the N64 version?

PSX is probably the easiest way to go, and you might be able to emulate it on your rig.

You might give nulldc a try as it seems to emulate Gauntlet Legends rather well (what little I have played it).

@sgt i cant run nulldc cuz the processor isnt strong enought.

if worst comes to worst ill just have to hook my macbook pro up to the cab and run it that way.

taz-nz got Gautlet Legends working at 108.57% 61.88fps using a Core 2 Duo overclocked to 4GHz.

I've heard a lot of E8000 series processors can overclock that high if you know what you're doing.

Wow, that is crazy I don’t think I am willing to overclock my processor that much. Gauntlet gameplay is smooth but just a little slow running on my computer but the sound is so choppy so I can’t play very long without being annoyed. But it is cool that he got it running and it is playable.  :applaud:

Well anywhere i can get a dreamcast arcade adapter because ultimarc's sister site sells them for like over $100.

You can hack a VGA box to output 15Khz and connect to a monitor. Not hard at all. You can also contact user HarumaN here on the board and he can hack you some controllers to connect.

A DC in a cab is a beautiful thing....
