help my Buddy ID an old 'Sega Genesis/megadrive' game ???
« on: April 21, 2008, 12:51:12 pm »
sooo...

there was this one Sega fighting game waaaay back long ago, but I can't recall what it was called.  It was about genetic monsters fighting each other, you could beat one of the monsters and win their genetic code and choose if you wanted to fuse with it or not.  You could then gain extra powers and your look would change if you did it.

Does anyone have any idea which game this is

for genesis/megadrive

any help would be appreciated

cheers

I've got Ecco on my Wii and that game still confuses the hell out of me.

Ecco was ---gosh-darn--- tough. If you didn't pay explicit attention to the "clues" throughout the game, you really had no idea what was going on. Ecco was one of the few games that spent years being "unbeatable" in my collection simply because I couldn't figure out what the point of the DNA boss was all about. Wasn't until I gained net access did I ever think to look the game up again, figure out what needed to be done, and defeat the game.

The Ecco sequel had the most amazing title music.

But Ecco looked wonderful and had great movement (flips and what-not). I remember it being a very intelligent game that had a good mix of music, graphics, and playability. But yes, it was frustrating. I hit a point I could not get past and gave up at that point. I never played the Sega CD version but I'd expect that it looks and sounds better while remaining equally frustrating. :)

Occasionally they might go to the second part where you had to swim around in tunnels.

That wasn't the end of the game?    :dizzy:
