Mame running too fast
« on: April 01, 2008, 02:20:14 pm »
Hi, I hope someone can help. I have just built my own machine and have installed Mame on a Lenovo PC running XP and have tried to use some of the games. All of them are running so fast I can't use them. I have tried to search the forum, but can't seem to find an answer. Please could someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Pat

Run from the command line:
mame -cc

Then edit the mame.ini file in your mame directory, find this section:
#
# CORE PERFORMANCE OPTIONS
#
autoframeskip             0
frameskip                 0
seconds_to_run            0
throttle                  1
sleep                     1

Make sure throttle has a 1 not a zero.

Ok, I was having the same problem, just having upgraded my PC to a P4 running XP.  I love the classics, and Frogger runs way too fast, but when I change the settings as listed in the previous post (I think the only change I made was to the Autoframeskip), it runs way too slow.  Any ideas?
