I've decided that 27" is probably too large for my needs, so I've been targetting a 25" monitor for an upcoming cabinet build.
Since nobody offers a digital 25" arcade monitor, I've been looking around for large PC monitors. I don't want to reset the monitor settings for each resolution that would be run. I was too late on a 24" monitor nearby from Craigslist, but I found this monitor for $75 locally. It's 6 years old and was used by an illustrator who claimed "I spend 30% of my time on the computer."
LaCie Electron 22Blue IIIWhat do people think about that for a cabinet? It's only 22", so I'll lose a bit of screen real estate. It does go to 2048x1536, so I should be able to get a better look to vector games than some lower res screens would have. I was more concerned about trying to get something closer to 25" rather than the high resolution, but that might just be a bonus.
Should I pull the trigger on this guy, hold out for another rare 24", or pursue some other avenue? The cabinet's going to be dedicated to arcade and console emulators, so no need to run any PC apps beyond a frontend.
Thoughts?
