Wii - MLB Power Pros - $20
« on: March 20, 2008, 10:11:09 am »
It's on sale at amazon.com today:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox/ref=cs_top_nav_gb27/102-8848840-5878525

If it's anything like the wii sports version but with more functionality I'd say it's worth it.

EDIT: reading reviews it doesn't sound like it works like the Wii Sports version.  WTF?!?  Does anyone have this game and care to comment?

I have the game but don't remember the EXACT controls.
It doesn't use the motion controls, but it uses the nunchuck.
The little guys didn't like it because you couldn't "swing" the bat. Maybe you can chnage the controls, I don't know. I never turned it on again.

MLB2k8 is a hybrid. It uses the nunchuck but also you "swing" the bat and use some sort of a pitching motion. I tried that one out last night. It was difficult, but I only played 1 inning. That one looks like it's a pretty good game.

After reading further, you can only swing the bat with the wiimote in "homerun derby" or "exhibition" mode.  :dizzy:  :laugh2:  The console industry's ineptitude just blows my mind sometimes.
