any recommended router

Hi, some of you might know me for posting too many questions =)
I am on my journey experiencing with wood working tools.
I am building a control panel of course and in the future who knows, a cabinet.

is there any router that is around 100 dollars or lower that is good?
I saw quite a few 80-100 dollar range, but I just want to be sure the products are not defective or anything.

wood that I will route would mostly be 3/4 MDF

I have a Black & decker 1-1/2 HP plunge router. I cant recall how much it cost.
Check Home depot or Loews.
It has worked out very good for me.

Ive been happy with my Craftsman from Sears.

They are around that price range, and frequently go on sale for cheaper.

A router is one of the primary tools used for building a cabinet... or just about anything made of wood. Why not buy a good one? Grab a multi-base kit from Bosch, DeWalt,  or Porter-Cable. The DeWalt 3-base DW618B3 is my current favorite, though I actually own the Bosch 1617EVS.

Don't go the cheap-o route. The $79 routers like the Ryobi will die on you. Maybe after a week, maybe a few months, maybe longer. But they won't last.

A few years ago I had a craftsman router and it would not stay locked at its depth, would creep lower and lower while cutting...not good. I recently (last year) got a great deal on a brand new triple base Dewalt router for $100 on craigslist. Absolutely LOVE it

I bought a Ridgid Router which is a combination regular and plunge-router.  (With removable base).  I forget the specs, but it's the only router Ridgid makes.  I LOVE the thing.  Has saved ---my bottom--- so many times on my Cab build.
