Yeah, they're nice.  If only I had room for one.  I've seen running but in worse shape trucks go for much less.

I off and on follow the M-truck scene as I have it's littler cousin a M715 1 &1/4 ton truck.

I don't have the canvas but do have the troop seats.  It's still currently a work in progress. (with not much progress)

Yes they did...I believe that one is a convertable...(canvas or removable hard top on the cab.)   ;D

That 1983 one is completely different from the WWII one. They don't seem to have anything in common other than the general type of vehicle they are and the fact they are both flat army green.

The one in the link has a hardtop installed, although I seem to remember plenty of softtop ones when I was in the army. I also seem to remember that everyone hated those trucks for whatever reason. I never drove one myself, I just got training on the Humvees and the newer model big truck (which I think was a 5 ton).
