Hi Neo,

Could you give us some more information? Like what hardware (ArcadeVGA, JPAC, etc) and software (MAME, DMAME, MAME32, Front End, etc) you're using?

I had a similar problem at first with my ArcadeVGA2 PCIe and JPAC. Turning off triplebuffer in the mame.ini file helped me out there, but that would cause some horizontal games to have a bit of vertical tearing. For those specific games I turned it back on by editing the ini file of those particular games.

With kind regards,
Spiderstyle

Hi spider,

I'm using mame 123b with mamewah, I'm just running it on pc with no arcade hardware, I think it might be the ini file i copied and pasted from a website as i cant get my pc to make it's own, I try opening a command promt and typing MAME -cc but it tells me there no such thing.
I tried mame 101 and it worked but i still can't get an ini file to edit.

Thanks for your help  :)

Try enabling -refreshspeed, and/or disabling all -waitvsync, -syncrefresh and -triplebuffer if you enabled them.  (I'm assuming you are using an LCD monitor and didn't change most of the default settings.)

Are you trying to create the mame.ini?

If so then just have Mame create it using the mame -cc command.  Using a command prompt navigate to your Mame folder.

C:\>cd mame
C:\mame>mame -cc

You should now have a mame.ini file in your mame folder.

First get to a command prompt.  Assuming mame is in the directory C:\mame type the following, or even cut and paste, one line at a time.

Code: [Select]
cd\mame
mame -cc

You shouldnt be typing c:\ ever, so you wont get that error.

Grin.. ;-)

Did you manage to get Mame to create an ini for you?

And even more important, is your sound problem solved?

I've had a look in dispaly and my computer don't go to 640 x 480 could this be the reason it's not playing some games like asteroids?
Would the mamewah res tool fix this or is that only if you have the arcade vga card?

Thanks guys

No.

Right click on your desktop, go to properties>settings>advanced>adapter>list all modes.

The reason your game might no be loading is because you might not have the game or your rom file doesn't coincide with your mame version and your missing rom files. You should try downoading MameUi 123 instead. There you can load the game and it should give you an error message.

Hi,
Modes my pc has are 800 x 600 and higher and so is my laptop, I'm using mame123 on both laptop and pc.
I tried mame ui and it did give a message so will go and check what it is and will get back.

I think he message was something key missing and then a load of numbers.

That means you're missing rom files.
Downloading the rom again should fix it.
