I'm shocked this thread hasn't been created yet. Anyways, what was your favorite commerical.

My favorite was the carrier pigeons. A close runner-up would be Stewie Vs. Wonderdog for the Coke.

Was it me or was this a really crappy year for commercials?  I kept watching them thinking "WTF was that?  Did I miss most of what it was for?"

The balloons/coke commercial was probably my favorite.  There definitely weren't many that made a whole lot of sense.

It wasn't you, I didn't think any of the commercials were really great and only a few were pretty good.

Definitely a really lame year for commercials.  About the only one that I remember chuckling during was the Bud Light caveman "wheel suck" commercial.  And I can't believe I whored myself to corporate America by logging into godaddy.com to see the supposedly "too hot for Fox!" Danica Patrick commercial.  That was beyond lame too.

It was much better than last year. You know its bad last year when Coke's big commercial was the GTA rip-off...that they had already been showing on TV for months!

There were a handful of good ones at least this year. The Caveman wheel was pretty funny, and the end of the Jackie moon Bud commercial was funny ( but not the whole thing). "Bud Light. Suck One." That caught me off guard and I spit pop everywhere.

I didn't like the baby commercials at all. I didn't care for the super power Bud commercials either. The Shaq commercial was retarded, made even more so now that Shaq is washed up. All of the car commercials sucked as usual. The animals screaming was the only decent one.

Were we supposed to know who that guy is?  No one in my house had any idea - we figured they just stuck Will Ferrell in a dumb outfit.

They had shown the preview for his upcoming movie at the previous break.

I liked the one with the car that was running down Richard Simmons.  I only wish the car actually did hit him.   ;D

Wow.  That must have sucked so hard that everyone tanked it from short term memory immediately.  We were actually watching the commercials for a change.

Mine!

If you guys didn't notice, I was in the first commercial.  The Microsoft/Ford Sync spot called "Anesthesia On".

I was laying on the operating table.  I'm sure you saw it along with a few hundred million others.

I have no clue what commercial you are talking about. I also just look at a summary of all commercials and didn't see it. Care to post a link?

I remember it.  It was annoying.  They kept yelling at the anaesthetic to activate itself like a voice responsive cell phone right before operating on someone who was not masturbating.

After reviewing the play, there was no conclusive evidence that the patient was not masturbating. The call on the field of "masturbating during surgery" stands. The patient will be charged with one timeout.

I don't think it was a horrible year for ads. Maybe not the greatest, but given the cost of the air time, advertisers are less and less likely to really try anything particularly groundbreaking anymore.

My favorites -

Audi Godfather spoof
Tide talking stain
FedEx pigeons
Etrade baby clown rental

The Will Farrell and Sales Genie spots get my votes for worst ads.
"Paradise, is exactly like where you are right now - only much, MUCH better." -Laurie Anderson

"Ford Sync"

I saw it and found it pretty funny.  I think the Ford Synch commericals are annoying for the most part though.  Its not like MS / Ford invented voice command for cars.  My Lexus has it, and it's a 2006 model.

Voice recognition is a major feature when you're not a $50,000 car.  I'm sure whatever $45 speech unit they put in is a major leap forward for Ford.  You can listen to whatever you want now, hands free, while you wait for a tow truck.

I'm waiting for the first keyword hacks to come out so I can say things like "---smurfette---, hold my drink" and have the drinkholder open up.
