How to get ahold of Mamemarquee.com???
« on: January 14, 2008, 11:18:34 am »
I am finally ready to get my artwork printed out but I can't seem to get ahold of the guys at mamemarquee.com.  I used their new 'ticket' system to contact them concerning upload instructions for my artwork over a week ago and have yet to hear back from them.  I am far to antsy about this project to sit around for weeks just waiting for them to answer a simple question knowing full well I'll have to wait even longer to get some actual 'work' out of them.

Does someone have a number I can call them at???

How about someone else to call for this type of work???

Grrrrr....

I was going to create a thread on this too. Last week I was looking for a email contact or phone number.

I emailed scott@mamemarquees.com directly answered email prompt enough. Personally, despite the hype on the board, I didnt find mamemarquees particularily helpful or good value for money. I went somewhere else for my priniting needs.

To be honest I contacted Scott back in December for a custom printing job on my panel to which I had to get the drilling template from Scott at Mameroom to him in order to get going, once I got the template and replied back to him I never heard back. I contacted him at least twice but nothing since then.
I guess since the holidays were coming up they must have had a huge amount of work/requests but I ended up giving up on it :-\ where did you go to get your printing done?

Send me a note and put byoac in the subject line and I will get back to you.

The only "guys" at mamemarquees is me, Scott...  I get a lot of email and things fall through the cracks, my first priority is to get items out the door, deal with current orders, any issues, and then answer questions, and sometimes I just run out of time at the end of the day to answer the questions.  You can always check my faq, which should answer most of the simple questions.

I don't list my phone number because I have a day job still (mamemarquees does not quite pay all the bills) and I do most all my work at night when I get home, which is 6pm - 10pm.

Things should get better from now on, I hired someone to help with the bookwork/shipping and I am looking to hire someone to help with the laminating, part time.

Scott,

May I suggest you include your email address on your site again,  your current help page requires a registration to ask for help which is a HUGE turn off for someone with a single question.

Here it is for the byoac community, it is also in my profile.  The helpdesk does not require you to register, you just click "submit a ticket" no registration required.

scott@mamemarquees.com

I am going to take 15-30 minutes from now on each day, whether I have time or not and answer email requests.  I took 10 days off during Christmas/newyear and I got really behind on the orders which is why the email requests were wrongly ignored.

Scott's email address is on every one of the custom artwork pages. I don't understand how someone considering placing a custom artwork order could have missed it. I would hope that we can all cut Scott some slack during the hectic holiday season. Seeing the quality of his work on the dozens of custom cabs on this site should afford him some breathing room. Can't a guy take vacation around here?

Just waiting on an A0 (841 x 1189 mm) contact sheet to arrive and i'll take some close up pics for you. My entire artwork, save the marquee, fits on this sheet as well as a few extras for my cabs "peripherals". I have no issue with your company Scott. As an UK buyer, I feel your delivery is too excesive. I have found a local supplier that I believe is better "value for money" Delivery is a lot cheaper as is there priniting costs. I think that if you are based in the US or Canada your company is a great choice, as delivery is a lot less. I also recommend your bussiness on my custom artwork thread. I dont want to get into a big "pissin contest" I simply found your service wasnt suitable for my needs.

I just wanted to pipe in and say a few things.  For one, I have gotten ahold of scott since this post was made and, at least currently, his communications seems as expected or better.  Also, this thread was by no means intended to be a mamemarquees bash session.  I, as well as others, were just wondering how to contact them because it seemed what we were trying wasn't working.

I'll update this thread more as my order progresses.  I hope to upload and place the actual order tonight...

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

It's nice to see how Scott from M.M. and Scott from Mameroom pay close attention to the community as they do. Shows that there are some business out there that still care about the consumer.

I also had no idea that this was also just a sidejob for him as well, my last order came so quick you'd think it was his main job lol. And as far as the actual product you won't be dissappointed, many ppl here including myself will vouch for his work.  8)

Hey Wave, I think Scott was being genuine about his inquiry.  He wants to be one of the top guys at what he does so he's always looking for suggestions for improvement, etc.

I'm certain his intent wasn't to get in your face.

Scott just wants to be #1.  ;)

It is true, I was genuine.  I know I will always have something to learn and have benefited greatly from the help of others on this group.  Just to name a couple, I sent out one BYOAC fellow a control panel to test how my cpo material will handle curves,  and he put up a nice "howto" install a CPO, another fellow put a youtube video up on how to install sideart as well as how different lighting affects the look of the marquees.   I hope to be able to go full time and have time to do some of that stuff myself, but in the mean time I rely on the help and generosity of others that love the hobby as much as I do.

I just enabled first class mail for the UK in my USPS plugin,  I am going to see if that is more reasonable for the UK folks, I know with the other option I had enabled, sometimes I would make an extra buck, other times I would lose.  This should be more accurate, though I don't know if First class is the same as Air mail... (but either way I will ship air, I don't think there is any other option, plus Air takes forever as is)  If someone in the UK purchases and it is totally off I will reimburse you and change the site back.

I hear you.
I have multiple Emails in to Scott now. Im still waiting on him to rectify a issue with a CPO I ordered from him on 12/13/08. Thats almost 2 months ago now. He sent me a email - after I emailed him a couple times - that he was sending the new (replacement) CPO out. I havent seen it yet, I sent him an email again almost 2 weeks ago (to the "byoac community hotline" as he listed above) and no reply as of yet.
Its a shame as he does real nice work. I have bought and was planning on continuing to buy from him, but his lack of communication really tarnishes his reputation.

I believe this issue were taken care off.   Unfortunately my definition of someone saying "take your time" does not mean the same thing to others, though I should have just gotten it out right away.    Luckily I don't have that many reships, but at the same time because it is not part of a routine, I did not have a good process for doing them.  I do now.
