Man, what a game that was last night. Between that game and the Bucs coming back, with their backup QB, to win on the last play this week... I'm exhausted from just watching football.

The chances of a Bucs-Pats Superbowl went up quite a bit this week.

After the Lions beat the Cowboys last season (in a weird fluke), John Kitna talked A LOT OF TRASH about the Cowboys defense and specifically belittled Brady James (56) and Terrence Newman (41). Both of those guys MAY go to the Pro Bowl this year. The entire Cowboys defense is ready to put Kitna in a retirement home drooling out the side of his mouth.

It's a good thing he didn't talk ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about Roy Williams... Williams might run up and miss a tackle on him.

Luke McCown is my new hero. That performance was huuuuge. My biggest fear for them all year has been the lack of a backup for Garcia.

Who is Romo's backup? I can't even remember. Brady's backup is a useless toadstool.

Yes....those of us in Tampa have been very nervous about what might happen if Garcia went down...I think most of those fears have been laid to rest. Still much to improve on though.

Oh nice. He is better than most people have always thought. He's pretty far up in age, though. I wonder what his shoulder has left. He never was a guy to make the throws or shuffle around like Romo is doing.

Don't get too comfortable. Gradkowski did the same thing for the Buc's on his first start a few years ago and then stunk up the joint.

At least this week we are facing a backup QB in Houston. Hopefully the defense doesn't play down to their level like they usually do.

Gradkowski threw for only 225 (his career high by far) in a losing effort in his first start. I've watched every snap of this guy's NFL career (including preseason) so far. He couldn't make some of McCown's throws if his life depended on it. He also couldn't move anything like McCown was moving on Sunday. McCown did make some critical mistakes, that is absolutely true, but he also came back from them and made that game winning TD throw with only a few seconds left - that's something Gradkowski has never shown the ability to do.

I totally agree with you CT. I'm on the McCown Bandwagon right now. I love his mobility and arm strength. Bruce pales in comparison. Hopefully he learned some stuff from Sunday's game (like throw the ball away when you are out of the pocket) and maybe he can keep the ship on course long enough for Garcia to heal up.

He shouldn't have to learn to get rid of the damn ball when you're under pressure in the end zone. You learn that in Pop Warner. That was one of the dumber things I've seen an NFL QB do since the last Giants game.

But there is the difference of getting actual game time experience(1 game plus pre season with Tampa) and walking the side lines/practice field experience(3 years).

I think we will see a much more improved McCown this week. If not, hopefully a bunch of 34 running down the Texans.

Wow, Brad Johnson as backup. He used to play in Minnesota too when he 1st started out. Had really good numbers, his nickname was "Opie". Pretty sure he used to throw a lot of long balls to Moss, unless he was just before Moss' time with MN...Can't recall now.

Anyway, I don't even watch much football like I used too. I see Green Bay is doing well though. Does Favre have a chance to take em all the way again, or I thought I heard they were lacking a running game? I wouldn't mind seeing him win one more...

Moss came into the league in 98, the last year Brad was in Minnesota (the first time) and Brad only played four games that year. Culpepper probably started to get injury prone starting that season.

All I can say about Brad is 'It's gotta be the hair!!' Any one in the Tampa area will know what I am talking about.

They have an uncanny ability to play at the level of there opponent.

So true. They play up for good teams and down for bad teams. The Texans came out and played with passion and desire. The Bucs came out flat and uninspired after a huge win last week. The Texans deserved that win.

I don't think you have much room to talk after last night. Hell, I might just suit up and play receiver the way those guys let the ball hit them in the face.

I just love how the Fox cameramen ALWAYS have a camera on Eli's face after a bad pass or a drop. I swear he is gonna be crying one of these times.

It wasn't just the Giants... the Redskins were dropping balls left and right too. If that icy mist that was in the Boston area was in NJ too that would go along way to explain why, on top of that wind, no one could catch a damn ball.

Keep in mind those Eagles that just beat the Cowboys came awfully close to beating the Patriots a couple weeks ago.

The Giants have two games left... not sure who they play next, but they're going to get a 15-0 Patriots after that.

No, Redskins receivers were having to adjust and dive for long bombs that got blown off course.
Giants receivers were letting 10 yard passes hit them in the face. I don't think Toomer caught a pass all night...and the ones I saw were ALL catchable.

My ideal superbowl is the unbeatable Pats killing everyone, then coming into the Superbowl to face the Last Gunslinger^TM, Brett Favre.

Could you imagine that? Favre could possibly go out on top by beating the best team ever in the Superbowl. That would be AWESOME!!!

In a way, he changed the game. I don't think before him, teams were assigning a good player to being only a return specialist.
Now everyone is trying to create a "lights out return specialist".

Of course, that idiot didn't like being a specialist, so he left and thus entered mediocrity receiver status.

There were plenty of guys like him for years before him. I'm not sure how you can say he was a good player limited to a return role - he never had any success with anything else in NFL.

I don't think they're trying to create return specialists now - when a team gets a guy like Hester the first thing they do is try to put him someplace else too. They always end up on offense (plus Hester in particular is a starter on D anyway).

WRs with bad hands become CBs. Rarely does a CB have the hands to become a WR. Even Deion had trouble with it.

What a bunch of losers those Dolphins are. After their game yesterday you would have thought they won the Super bowl the way they were celebrating. Instead of celebrating they need to take their sorry asses into the locker room and stop acting like a bunch of high school kids who were just happy to be on the field and celebrate when they actually do something worthy of celebration.

They even had the balls to play their lame "Miami Dolphins #1" song after the game. It was pathetic.

I concur 100%. Dudes that get paid millions are not allowed to celebrate like that with a record of 1-13. I would fully expect them to smile a bit and pat each other on the back, but what they did was WAY over the top for sorry ass professionals.

I doubt you would act any different. They play an emotional game, and those emotions came to a head last night when the Dolphins finally got something to cheer about.

Wow, who pissed in your Cheerios's? I would cry too at 0-11...all the way to the bank that is! I feel NO pity for overpaid professionals who lose. I don't know what you are smoking, but the Dolphins were NOT destined for great things this year. In case you hadn't noticed, Trent Green was washed up, and virtually incapacitated by concussion syndrome.

Oh I don't hate them at all. I do think it is pathetic that a group of professionals - and there are more than a few highly paid veteran Dolphins I might add - that are in a league with as even parity as the NFL cannot win a game for that long. This is not the MLB, there is no such thing as a "small market team". There is a salary cap - all teams work with the same amount of money.

Cowboys definitely stunk it up against the Eagles. Romo's thumb was hurt and if he's having a bad game, so does the whole team. At least we don't suck as much as the Giants - they suck pretty bad.
