You could have always PM'd me and asked, surely that would have been easier than asking everyone else??  ;)

But no, haven't given up, just been busy with other stuff and this is only one of my hobbies so finding time has been hard. Posted a message in the main forum this morning saying that I'm trying to start work on this again and I'm trying to source some laminate sheets for the panel, anyone know where i may be able to get them in the UK? ideally London based.

My website has had a bit of an update and I've added a few more pics of this cabinet to it under the re-design section.

Looks pretty slick, that's gonna be an awesome cabinet for sure.  You might wanna consider getting Cyberpunk or someone else to do the printing on such a big piece of side-art, since Kinko's is getting notorious for ripping us Mamers off for big artwork.  You should also see if you could somehow get ahold of some blue coin door buttons, www.therealbobroberts.com might stock them, that'd be kinda neat to have that, then put blue leds behind them instead of normal lights to truly give it that BLUE feel.
The only thing I don't see on there is the way you're gonna get access to the PC, if you're gonna have the keyboard just chillin behind the cabinet, or if you're gonna have it setup so the coin door can open and you can access the front of the pc, etc.  Maybe stick a power button on the back would work best?  Also, what kinda sound system are you thinking of putting in there.  I can suggest something: buying a 3-set of Altec Lansing speakers, take the satellites outta their cases and mounting them on the top part like normal arcade speakers, then putting the subwoofer on the bottom.  Having a subwoofer can really help get that umpf from the music when playing some arcade games, like Metal Slug 3 especially, every scream from the bad guy when you shoot them sounds great with a nice extra BOOM.

CthulhuLuke, glad you like. I’ll be getting www.photoartistry.co.uk to do my printing, they did my cp overlay and the results were excellent and at a very good price.

I checked out that printer, may order my overlay from them. Could you answer a couple questions?

If you live in the us: How much was shipping?
Which type of printing should I order for sideart and overlay?

Thanks :)

Got my laminate samples through today, I've now narrowed it down to these four. What do you guys think, which colour (A, B, C, or D) would suit the bottom half of my cab?

Cheers for the opinons

What do I think? I think I'm jealous that you have the budget to do all this cool stuff!  ;D

(Other than that I would go with "A".)

P.S. I never noticed or mentioned it before, but I like the way you set your Neo Geo buttons. It's the same way I wanted to do mine, but I don't think I'll ahve the room. Having the 4th button in the bottom left would be a pain. Being in the top right is infintely easier and more intuitive.

Budget???  ::)

Hmm...thats something I try not to think about, but seriously, using laminate shouldn't work out that expensive considering how many coats of paint would be needed plus all the cleaners etc.

I would go with A or B.. A seems to match the buttons and the artwork best.. but B would probably look best since it is darkest and would go well with all the black.

My CP image was printed to Glossy paper and I was very happy with the results, but don't really have anything else to compare it to though.

The vinyl sheets I got from a friend, but like I said the results weren't good at all.

And yeah I'm aware of the plexi options as thats what I originally had planned for the top half of the cab, matching artwork cover with clear plexi.

I got another paint sampler and I liked the colour, so I've brought all my MDF and I've started building the rest of my cab. From now on I should be updating the diary section on my site regularly with my progress.

Lets see if I can get this sucker built!  :)

Outstanding work, I personally would go with black for the bottom of the control panel.  I think that the blue looks odd because it lacks the black t-molding on the edges likt the blue area under it...the black just seems to flow better in that area.  But thats just my opininon.

Keep up the good work.
