Proper Donkey Kong Side Art Placement
« on: October 01, 2007, 11:46:29 am »
Well I am finishing up my Donkey Kong restore. I ordered my repro side art from quarter arcade this morning. I just got thinking I do not know the proper placement for the side art and im wanting it to be as exact as possible. Does anyone have an original dk with side-art still intact that they could measure the distance from the top of the cab to the decal and then from the sides of the cab to the sides of the decal for me. It would be very much appreciated!!

Thanks so much in advance,
Neil

I think a side-art set should include this in the instructions  :D

Neil,

The cabinet restoration looks great, generally we place it about 2 ¾” from the top of the cabinet to the top of the artwork and then try to center it on the cabinet for placement of left/right.  There is no exact guide I’ve seen some games with slightly lower/higher, but this seems to be pretty darn close to most I’ve seen and looks good.

That's funny, I'm going to apply my side art today as well. Anyway, I found a guide once but lost it. I still had most of the old side art on there, so I marked it with a pencil. I can measure later if you'd like.
