Mulit Exidy 440 kit
« on: September 27, 2007, 12:45:02 am »
Ok,

Over on the KLOV forum some folks were discussing the Exidy shooter
series, and Dave Widel chimed in and said that he would consider doing
another run of the kit if 20 people committed.

http://forums.webmagic.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=534479&an=0&page=1#Post534479

So, this is a call for those interested in this kit to sign up!
Either post here or over at the KLOV forums.  I'll try to help Dave
keep a tally of folks interested so we can hopefully get this great
kit out in the marketplace once again!

Dave posted a price of $250 per kit.  I assume the
new run would follow the same design as the original kit which was
basiclly plug and play with only 3 wires needing to be soldered IIRC.
Here is an old page that descirbes installation:

http://widel.com/files/440inst.htm

Assuming that it will be the same kit as originally designed there
will be 9 games available on the kit.
1 Crossbow
2 Cheyenne
3 Combat
4 Crackshot
5 Chiller
6 Clay Pigeon
7 Hit 'n Miss 3.0
8 Who Dunit
9 Catch-22

Here is another old link to the FAQ about the kit:

http://www.widel.com/440faq.htm

So everyone who wants to see this kit become available again, please
continue to post here of over on the KLOV forum.  I'll attempt to
compile and maintain a list of all those interested.

Much Thanks!

-Dean

I don't have anything to put the kit in yet, but Exidy Crossbow is on my list of must-have dedicated machines someday.  I've always kicked myself that I didn't get one of the first-run kits, since I know I'll want one someday.  These games just aren't right in MAME, even with a lightgun.  You need the real deal.  (anybody got a Crossbow for sale/trade near California?)

I'm going to go commit right now.  Thanks for the Heads-Up!

I think we are up to 35 kits requested, so if anyone else is interested don't hesitate to let me know.  Thanks!
