Help with Blitz 99 & Mortal Kombat T-Unit
« on: October 01, 2007, 03:30:49 pm »
Hi,

1st: I have a Mortal Kombat T-Unit board. I've actually had it for a few years but just realized it has a problem. It's hard to describe. The video has some strange interference lines. They are clear and very faint but they are there. They don't scroll but seem to wiggle up and down. Almost like when you use a cheap composite cable on a tv and sometimes it can pick up some wavy lines or interference. It seems to be more noticeable on bright colors like white and grey. I know the eproms are all good and I have many other games (including other T-Unit games) that work flawlessly so I know it's not the monitor. Does anybody know what might cause this or what I should check? I tried taking some pics but you can't see anything in them.

2nd: I bought a non-working blitz 99 pcb recently. It lights up but does nothing. The 2 eproms were uncovered and completely blank when I got it. I reprogrammed them with the correct data and set the jumpers to the defaults the manual says. I also straightened out some bent pins but it still does nothing. I fear the security pic might be dead. Does anybody know what the board does if that chip is missing or damaged? Does it make a sound or display an error or something? and can a replacment be made or purchased?

Thanks,

- Taylor
