Video Settings for Sony 65" rear projection TV
« on: September 24, 2007, 12:23:40 am »
I am wondering if anyone in th eforums happens to have a set-up similar to mine and how they went about setting certain video settings.

I have my MCE box connected to a Sony 65" rear projection TV running from a AIW9800 card.  I am connected via component cables.  Media Center runs great and I like the look and feel.  However, the issue comes about when trying to run MAME and other emulators.  Is it a setting in the front end that controls how big the video of the game appears on my TV?  I have this big TV and the game only shows up in 1/4 of it.  I am really stumbed about where to go next.  Physical connection or software?

Thanks.

software settings in the emu's and H and V size on the tv settings

Also screen burn is in the near future if your using a pc on a rear projection for a few hours a time.

hehe if it gets to be too much hassle just press the zoom or aspect ratio button on your tv and see if it can bring it to a full screen image.

otherwise I run MCE2k5 on my 61" jvc rear projection. I have not had any issues with displaying what I im using it for (movies and such) but havent tried mame so I am of no help here.

My suggestion is File > Properties > display Tab and uncheck 'enforce aspect ratio' see what that does if that dose not work cick on the screen tab and check 'switch resolutions to fit' and see what that does..

Just suggestions but eh ya never know.. and as for burn in.. Ive been running mine for a year (of course I dont leave a static image on it for very long at all) but I dont see where running a pc which is running MCE will cause any damage if you are not leaving a static image up.. I mean thats what its designed for.

I had a similar issue.  Turns out the overlay setting was on.  Turn off the overlay setting and everything should go back to normal.

"Overlay" meaning all the artwork such as bezel images and whatnot ?
That seems to be a common problem when people say the games are too small......
