I'm so pissed this is a multi-platform game.  Why dumb down what could potentially be one of the greatest Star Wars games ever?  (I know, money)  Maybe it's good that the Wii version is being done by a separate developer so more time is spent integrating the wiimote.  I hope the trademark lightsaber sounds sound good coming out of the little speaker on the wiimote.

Has the possibility of a pack-in attachment been mentioned?  In my case it doesn't really matter as I got rid of my Wii last month.  Hard to resist when you can make a heft profit on a used system.

My problem with this game is the way it looks like they're handling the Force powers.  A Sith apprentice bringing down a Star Destroyer with the Force?  With that kind of power what's the point of melee combat?  Maybe I'm being too much of a geek but the cranked up Force powers are ridiculous, IMO.

Just don't look into exactly what developer they handed the Wii version off to or you might see that they have NEVER made a decent game in their entire history.  Whoops . . . I think I might have just let the cat out of the bag.

Yeah you mentioned that before.  I'm a little unclear what having Krome Studios working on the Wii version means exactly, considering it's probably the same game as the other platforms will get.  Hopefully they are just concentrating on integrating the Wii controls and not changing the gameplay at all.

Now that i think about it, how hard can it be to make the saber move as you move your controller? That's all that is needed here i think.

Nearly impossible.  The sensors only provide acceleration data.  It would be possible to calibrate an initial position and track from there, but the first time you max out the sensors with a fast movement, you'd need to recalibrate.

Actually it's quite possible.  The latest release of glovepie (pc drivers for the wiimote) supports 5df via the accelerometers and while it's not 100% accurate, I'd say he got it at around 85-90%.  There's also a special mode that "fakes" 6df by reading the sensor bar values as well.  It's far more accurate.  It has 1 to 1 tracking when the wiimote is pointed at the screen and nearly that (via guestimate based on last known position and accel data) when it's not, so long as you don't turn the wiimote completely backwards.

The thing is, like the others have said, this particular developer sucks and they'll be far too lazy to implement such a complicated function.  Heck we'll be lucky if we have a "flail your arms like crazy to do a completely unrelated slash combo" like we got in TP.  No More Heroes is far more promising, and imho more interesting story-wise.

So it's going to be your standard arcade fighter, then.  Wonderful.
