MK4
« on: September 12, 2007, 07:00:19 pm »
I have been trying a few different versions on Mame and cannot find anyway to get MK4 to work on anything. Are the Mame devs having a tough time emulating that special chip that makes MK4 run or an i missing something?

MK4 is horrible, and thats coming from a MK fan.  best bet is to snag the PC version, its like $1 or if you have a dreamcast, get MK Gold, its like MK4 with slightly less suck.

I dunno what the hold up on the emulation is, but I cant really say that its gonna be worth the wait.

With MAME they have to emulate the 3D hardware used to run the game. MAME doesn't use standard APIs for doing 3D. Notice only very early 3D games are emulated in MAME, MK4 isn't one of them.

I just noticed someone listed a MK4 JAMMA board on the BST forum...

He claims he got it for $200.  I'd offer $25 but I think it may be a slap in the face.
