smart powerstrip power up TV?
« on: September 07, 2007, 01:09:12 pm »
I recently bought a smart powerstrip to power up everything on my cab when i switch my PC on. The problem im having is the TV im using as the monitor will not power up by itself using this strip. Is there anything i can do where the tv will power on along with everything else when i power up the smartstrip?  :dunno Thanks in advance.

If you unplug the tv from a regular outlet, then wait a few minutes and plug it back in, does it come back on?  The smart strip is cutting off the power to your tv.  If it does not have a feature commonly called 'power return', when the power is restored, it won't come on by itself.  Give it a test on a regular outlet.

I had the same problem with my TV (not only that but when you powered it on, it would not revert to the AUX input).  In most cases, you're simply out of luck.  Someone around here used a toothpick to force the power button in and apparently had luck with that (I didn't though).  Try searching around the forums here.
