Help with Paperboy Med Res Monitor
« on: August 30, 2007, 05:48:27 pm »
I have Paperboy with no monitor.   :banghead: I have been searching everywhere for a 19 inch monitor to use.  The only one I can find is Wells-Gardner D9500.
https://www.wellsgardner.com/products/details.asp?iCat=2&iSubCat=10

I have noticed that not many people have experienced this monitor in med res but i did read somewhere when using med res with this monitor that it might cause it to flicker.  I was told by someone that there might be a way to fix that but it would void any warrenty.  I also have been tring to get a hold of tech or customer service at Wells Gardner all day and now i know why people try to avoid dealing with these monitors.  I have invested too much time to just give up.  Please help :notworthy:.  Can u suggest a different monitor?  I havn't seen anyone talk about replacing a paperboy monitor with anything but a refurbished Wells-Gardner 19k7635.  Also does anyone know the exacted frequency for paperboy?  I think it is 24khz

Have you tried looking into the Billabs I mentioned to you in your other thread?

It's new, so you will probably have to call them to get more information.

Well i called them.  They said they  didnt know if this monitor would work with paperboy.  They said it should work.  And if it doesn't i have to pay for shipping and 15% stocking fee.  Seems like a big risk to take when they cant even tell me if its going to work or not.  I just dont see why if it doesnt work, its got to come out of my pocket.

I have seen scan converters that will do any combo of cga/ega/vga for around $100... you could get one of those and use either a 21" PC monitor (people practically give these away) or a regular cga arcade monitor.
