My scratch built MAME machine.
« on: August 26, 2007, 08:01:31 pm »
HI Everyone,

Andrew, from Sydney Australia here!

Been a reader (and user) of BYOAC for sometime now, but never joined the forums till now.

I completed my mame machine about 6 months ago and have been slowly refining it and adding things to it over the months.  I finally installed a HAPP trackball and I'm about to fit an ACT-LABS gun once I get a new chip installed into the VGA box to work with my 21" monitor.

Built from 12mm MDF and the only part I actually paid for was the control panel controls.  I wanted to prove to my wife that I could build a mame cabinet for next to nothing! :)  Everything else is from Charity shops or salvaged from people throwing parts out.

If you want more info on the cabinet please ask me!

You can view the cabinet here.

:D

Congrats, it's a great feeling 'finishing' a mame project.

Sure is, although by it's very nature it's never truly finished.

I'm always able to find something I can change / add-on / fix / setup / install / move

Cupholders!  It looks sweet though.  I only wish that I had been born with half the dedication of the most of you.
