I'm in the process of installing a WG D9500 and due to its larger size compared to my 19" PC monitor it's giving me nothing but headaches. I've gotten past the major ones for now but one thing I'm worried about is this tubular black wire (maybe 1/4" in diameter) that goes around the monitor towards the front and a smaller one towards the back. I'll try and take some pictures. There are some ground wires that were holding it in place but it doesn't seem to connect anywhere.
My issue is, I've had to push the one in the front back somewhat so I can rotate my monitor. It was rubbing against the hole edge of where my monitor rotates. Am I going to be out of luck w/ some feature? I *really* hope it doesn't effect degaussing since that is probably the most important part for me.
Any monitor gurus that can shed some light on this?
This is not a pic from my monitor but it has the similar black wire going around it. My camera is dead at the moment. The wire (or bundle of wires) I'm talking about can be seen best on the right hand side. There is a tie wrap on the lower right of it.

EDIT: Added picture
