Weird Joytokey Xpadder Mamewah Problem
« on: July 08, 2007, 02:32:47 am »
I'm using the latest beta version of mamewah and vgs the playstation emulator. Everything works great except for the fact that I can't close it afterwards. I use joytokey and mapped my pad's 9 button as Alt+F4 to close it. But it doesn't work. I tried Xpadder but same result. When I run both programs from outside of mamewah they work and I can close the emu by pressing button 9 (Alt+F4) Heres my ini

With Xpadder you have tried this outside of MameWah?

With the left side ALT key used in Slot 1 and F4 key used in Slot 2.

Yes. Outside of mamewah both xpadder and joytokey work. But if launched through mamewah they both don't work. I also tried closemul with no luck. If joytokey or xpadder are launched through mamewah but as a bat file they both work. Only problem there is that {autoquit} option doesn't work. So there's no way to close them after exiting the emulator.

Well use Xpadder via batch file if thats working then use:

post_emulator_app_commandlines C:\Program Files\Xpadder\xpadder.exe /c

To close Xpadder after the emu is closed.

I tried something similiar using killproc. A command line process killer. But instead of killing it at the closing of the emu. It was doing it as soon as the emu was launched. Just tried your suggestion. Both as you posted and as a batch file but same thing happened. Mamewah kills the process as soon as it launches the emu.
post_emulator_app_commandlines C:\Program Files\Xpadder\xpadder.exe /c
For know I found a work around. I use killproc on all my other emus to kill xpadder before joytokey launches. That way no conflicts. By the way. I just downloaded the latest version of xpadder and I think I might be making the switch. The only thing that was holding me back before was the startup speed. That with my 400mhz arcade pc was around 4 seconds. Now the newer version launches immediately! Now I might not need the work around.

Hey sorry I wasn't able to be more helpful...I use GameEx...so thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it. ;)

Well its good to hear you have a work around, and that Xpadder is working out for you better with the current builds.

Anyways best of luck.
