I voted quick and peaceful hopefully.  Seen people slowly deteriorate over time just waiting for the final curtain call, not very nice.

Quick and painless as well.

I work in a hospital, and see people linger and go on for years, even though they're in pain and have basically been reduced to a piss and ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- factory. I'd rather just check out in one quick go.

Quick and painless like my dad. He went while eating a burger in a Perkins restaurant. Good way to go. He got to choose his free last meal and everything. (His heart exploded) Not bad. Either that or in my sleep.

The next question is what do you want done with your body?

Personally, I think it is a huge waste of money to have a casket and a plot. You are dead. WHO CARES?!? I always tell my wife to just put me out with the garbage. (Hopefully I will die near garbage day so she doesn't have to keep my body in the house for too many days)

But then again, I don't believe in visiting a grave site so...If I want to talk to my dad, I will talk to him. He isn't at the cemetery. He's dead. (Just my opinion. Not trying to offend anyone.)

I'm with Woody Allen on this issue. I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens.

I agree in this matter. I don't believe in an afterlife and all that, so I don't really care what happens to my body after I'm dead.

David Cross had a good bit about this same concept:

"My family has always said, Don't you care what happens to your body after you die? And, uhhhh, no I don't. I'll be dead, so I won't be in a position to care. Just toss me in the trash or something, I do not care. Hell, maybe get some practical use out of my corpse. Maybe give it to a bunch of necrophiliacs. They could take my body and ---fudgesicle--- me in the ass. Yeah, ---fudgesicle--- me in the ass, ---fudgesicle--- me in the ear, ---fudgesicle--- me in the eye sockets, ---fudgesicle--- me in the mouth, make new holes in my body and ---fudgesicle--- those. Whatever, it's not important."

Yeah, I'm going to freeze myself and wake up 500 years in the future Buck Rogers style. I'll then show all the hot futuristic chicks my funky late 70s dance moves.

I'm going to go for the goodbyes.

My Grandfather died years ago from liver cancer. It was not pleasant at all for him. He did radiation and chemo, and finally said enough was enough, and went home to wait for the inevitable - which took more than 6 months. He did however, have the time to make all of his funeral / estate arrangements, say his goodbyes, and mend more than a few strained relationships, one of which was with my Mother. She still talks about having the opportunity to reconcile with him before he passed.

I like the idea of having an epilogue. If i have to endure some pain to get it, so be it.

Aye, mi too, lad.  Actually, David Copperfield recently said that he had, and that he was really 80 years old. But perhaps reincarnation is just such a thing. The hard part with that is what you come in as each time.

I was just going over some old letters and cards given to me (one a valentine from a girl in 5th or 6th grade that says 'I'm just being fair and giving one to everybody in class'...HAHAHAH, I mostly negatively popular with the good christian girls)....some from a buddy from the Corp, etc, etc....and contrary to what many might feel...that they're old....I feel as young as ever. Can't explain it but vaguely understand it. Just feel young.

You know what totally makes me roll my eyes is the people who've read the studies about rats' life spans being extended due to calorie restriction. You have these people that can't even survive a short fall cos they'll break several bones. YEAH, LETS BECOME DECREPIT LONG BEFORE OUR TIME SO WE CAN LIVE LONGER....BEING THAT WAY.

Was it a letter, or a valentine from the Corp buddy?  It'd assplain a lot if it were the latter :laugh2:

Heh heh heh heh. Yes: though the written correspondence was straight-forward in nature, you probly don't want to know the details behind the relationship of one of them. Though I will say, my relationship experience is probably at least as varied and colorful as many here's games collecting experiences.

Isn't that a curious one? Andrew Weil, in his bailiwick, finally fixed that one a few years ago. Back on the life-extension: 10-20% isn't what a lot of immortality-zealous people are doing.

Well there's no point in living forever if you don't enjoy yourself.  That's why I say diets are for suckers.  Then again, doing nothing but eating a side of ham every 4 hours until you are the size of a house isn't such a good idea either.
