I distinctly remember nintendo redesigning the controller when they redesigned the SNES as the mini. A bootleg manufacturer wouldn't spend the extra money to have the nintendo logo embossed on the controller.
As stated, look at the box of the mini snes; the controller shown is clearly the one with the embossing.
Well, after I looked through a few more of the auctions, I do see that the embossed controller is shown on the box. So, I accept defeat on that particular part.
You say that a manuf. wouldn't spend the extra money to have Nintendo embossed on the controller? Why wouldn't they? They want people to buy their product, and they want people to think they are buying an original. Nearly everything these days is bootlegged. From shoes and purses, to modchips and DVD's. The bootleg manuf. goes to great lengths to make their product look just like an original. I'm not saying these controllers being sold are bootlegs, but they are boxed, brand new, and cheap., and as the saying goes, "if it's too good to be true..."
Like I've already mentioned, I've held both types of controllers in my hand at the same time. One obviously felt lighter, cheaper, and had a shorter cord. Perhaps Nintendo was trying to cut costs on materials, so they cheaped out on a few things. Perhaps not.
