ArcadeVGA issue with multisync monitor
« on: May 19, 2007, 05:29:20 pm »
I am using ultimarc arcadevga 2 ,i am using the a microvitec myltisync monitor (1701) for testing prior to installing in my cab, one  thing i have noticed is the output at 15hz is not great in the amount of contrast it kicks out.The card just seems to be a bit dull compared to my other ati 9700 in 30khz but when at 15 khz it just seems even less colourfull as if the output needs more power or something.
I also have a jpac for boosting the signal when i get it installed in my cab will this fix the problem ?,has anyone noticed this problem?.Is this just a side effect of running at a reduced refresh speed.
people never seem to talk about the quality of the colours when they talk about gfx cards!

Hmm I've never heard of that monitor.  Maybe check with Andy at ultimarc -- I know he sells a video amplifier which is needed for some monitors.  I have no contrast issues at all in 15khz modes with the AVGA2 and Betson multisync FWIW.

The on-board amp on the J-PAC should cure this problem.
