Mamewah Issues

I was having issues getting my old @ss video card to work with TinyXP.  So I decided to crack out old Win98.  I'm attempted Mamewah 1.62, Mame 1.61, and Mame .97.  Each one I get the follow error in log.  It then crashes.

Have you installed the MameWAH system files and the latest version of DirectX?

Wow, long time no post!

Ok, I am having this exact same issue.  Latest Mamewah, latest Directx (well, 9c), and I am still having this issue.  Any other suggestions?

Download system files from mamewah homepage and register them (using the bat file)...

As Jcrouse said, without correctly registred system files, mamemay would not run.

Decade Old Work: MultiFE, ArcadeMusicBox
Today Works: Various Spectrum Next games from Rusty Pixels and html5 games.

I did that, and still no joy.  Very strange.

I don't think that later versions of MameWAH are actually supported for Win98 OS.  Mostly, people seem to be focussing on how to run it under Vista.

That error is related to your sound card or drivers. For a quick test just disable sound in mamewah ini and it should fire right up.

I agree except there is a DirectInput problem there too.  Check DirecX installation, and ensure your sound card / drivers are DirectX compatible.
