Download system files from mamewah homepage and register them (using the bat file)... As Jcrouse said, without correctly registred system files, mamemay would not run.
I was having issues getting my old @ss video card to work with TinyXP. So I decided to crack out old Win98. I'm attempted Mamewah 1.62, Mame 1.61, and Mame .97. Each one I get the follow error in log. It then crashes.5/18/07 8:59:43 PM MAMEWAH v1.62 launched5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Desktop colour: 84213765/18/07 8:59:43 PM Wallpaper filename: 5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Desktop display mode: 1024x768 @ 60Hz, 16bit colour5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Decimal symbol: '.'5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Games list read: mame-0.lst5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Layout selected: C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\MAMEWAH_V162B13\config\layout.lay5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Bad image file: C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\MAMEWAH_V162B13\config\art.png5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Error: 429 ActiveX component can't create object in SFX_InitialiseDS5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Error: 429 ActiveX component can't create object in CTRLR_InitialiseDI5/18/07 8:59:43 PM Error: 429 ActiveX component can't create object in SFX_InitialiseDS5/18/07 8:59:48 PM Error: 429 ActiveX component can't create object in SFX_InitialiseDS5/18/07 8:59:48 PM MAMEWAH quit
That error is related to your sound card or drivers. For a quick test just disable sound in mamewah ini and it should fire right up.
