Still at 20.96, and I'd really like that charger, so I'll "stay the course" (heh) for a few weeks. I've posted a few things on two other websites I occasionally visit, so we'll see how it goes. Plus it's in my sig here now.

Still don't understand why True was denied, though. Makes me hesitate trying for the stamps one.

im trying for a charger as well. ive got 23 points as of right now. ill have enough probably by the end of the week. its only 32 points i think.

jonthebomb - im guessing this is your first prize request. just so you know, it took a couple of days to get the prize request processed. they email you the code, or you can look at your My Prizes link. i think sometimes they ship them to you, but i dont know why since you can buy them online...that maybe a false statement. my first code was invalid and i immediately thought "great, spent all this time only to be scammed"....but it was actually a typo, and i submitted a trouble ticket and i got a response in 3 days with the correct code. havent had a problem since.

Did the stamps one. BINGO! Got approved within like 5 minutes. Also did another new .90 one, and tada! I'm over the 32 point hump! Just made the request for the charger. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Were you able to quickly quit the stamps.com free trial after you were approved? I'd consider doing that, then a couple more surveys to get over the 22 point hump if it wasn't much of a hassle.

I like to wait a day or so to make sure I get them approved. I canceled the stamps yesterday. I would recommend using your real contact information on any that use credit cards, mainly the True and Stamps one. I just fudged the phone number by one digit (if they ask, I could say I mistyped.) We've all seen the True ads over the years, so I felt pretty confident it was a legit company.

I had to call the stamps one, which took about 5 minutes. Make sure to document everything you use to sign up for that, including your secret question. They'll ask it when you want to cancel. I waited to cancel that one after my prize request was approved. (You know, just to make sure.) The True one I was able to cancel online (even though it says you need to call. I called later, and they told me it was canceled already online. Still can't believe I got denied that one. It still hurts!!)

I'm looking at the efax one as a possibility next, as it's another free 30 day trial for 7.5 points. It says you can cancel via live chat. Like I said, I like waiting a few days. It's easy to just leave yourself a note. It's also hard to forget when you check the site every day.

My charger has shipped, so I'll give you more info if/when I see it, and whether it is the actual Nyko brand.

It should be noted:

When I got all those offers denied, (including True,) I disconnected my LAN line while my PC was off. Then turned it on, allowed it to realize it was disconnected, and then restarted it again. I don't know enough about networking, but I was banking on my IP changing as a result.

I also set up another junk mail account on yahoo.

i'm .5 points away from getting a charger, but i was going to wait to see if you got yours in the mail before i used my points on it. the ms points and wii points are a sure thing since ive gotten them before.

I'm still waiting, but the forums have someone that's been waiting since the 13th of March.

I was emailed a tracking number, and it says it was shipped via USPS Priority Mail. If it was picked up that day, I'd have it by now. That's the whole problem with USPS tracking. If someone has that electronic notification stuff going on, there's no telling when it actually is picked up and shipped. The stupid tracking page doesn't even update until AFTER you have the damn item in your hands. (Nothing like UPS's tracking system.)

Will update with furthur developments.

Edit: My email saying it was shipped says it was supposed to ship on the fourth, so if all goes according to what the email seems to state, I should have it tomorrow.

niiiiiice. yeah im sitting at about 34 points right now. i havent played any wii in a while, so i may hold off on the charger. im just going to keep holding onto the points till something really cool comes out.

I assume you aren't doing it on a public computer where someone else may have used it and potentially (though not likely) done the same surveys, or even the same NETWORK as someone else.

Other than that, I don't know. I did what hulkster suggested. I used ALL correct information on the gaminglagoon site. On every survey site I used fake information, though I used the same info time and time again.(EXCLUDING THE TRIAL CC ONES-I used genuine information for them since they needed the CC info anyway.)

yep, that may be the problem. they dont like you using a bunch of pc's to fill out surveys. just stick to one.

i did, I used my own pc, filled out the info at GL with real info, (I created a spam email account first) and reused all the same info.....I don't know, oh well it's a pain in the ass for me anyway so I'll just pass, thanks for the tip though

np. for some its just not worth the time. i ended up getting enough referrals so i dont have to fill out a lot of surveys. it takes a little longer, but i got time.

After my batteries died, I popped in the Nykos...

One battery pack doesn't work right.

Support told me I have to take it up with the manufacturer...I'm not expecting any progress...

thats odd, i would call nyko though seriously. one of my friends actually works for nyko and he said that very few of their battery pack thingys flaked out, but some did...and they replaced them for free.

gaminglagoon just buys these things from the store or from amazon.com and ships them out, so if they are screwed up, its because you got a faulty unit, but not because gaminglagoon tampered with it or got it from Joe's Videogame Supply.

k, i talked to my friend, and he said what youve basically have already done.

"We always replace defective products. Have him email customersupport@nyko.com or call 888-400-6956, toll free and we will take care of it."

sweet! i just requested the nyko charger myself for the wiimotes. it says pending shipment so who knows how long it will take to actually ship it. it may be on back order or whatever.

I got my Nyko charger on Thursday. Four days after ordering it.

Works like a champ, although the blue LEDs are a bit bright if you're gonna try sleeping in the same room where the charger is setup.

my charger came in today (4 days from ordering!) but one of the batteries doesnt work! geez. i thought yours was just a fluke...im calling my friend here in a minute to complain!

i tried to call my friend but he's at a show (like CES, E3, etc.) so i may not get to hear from him till next week. did you ever get a response back from nyko?

im thinking about just taking the whole thing to walmart and exchanging it. as long as you have the box, theyll take anything back....especially for an exchange.

Positive news!

I sent the battery back early last week.

I arrive home today to a DHL package.

Nyko sent me an ENTIRELY NEW CHARGE STATION!!!

Now I've got three rechargeable batteries and two stations!

Still all FREE!

well i guess nyko gets points for good customer service. i got mine as well...i didnt get a whole new station, but i did get an extra battery. cool!

oh and btw, gaminglagoon added a butt load of prizes. 3 of the big ones being a DS Lite, a Gamecube, and a PSP! granted they cost a lot of points, but at least you can save up now. gamecube is reachable. ive spent about 78 points in 2 months, and i now have about 43 so i would just now being having enough to get a handheld or something. but still, if you save, the option is there.

just to give a small update...the site ive been talking about before was gaminglagoon. well theyve branched out and created videogamelagoon.com! gaminglagoon just gives you hardware for your consoles like controllers, cables, etc. the new site basically just lets you pick whatever video game you want from amazon.com and they send it to you! yep, thats all there is to it. just fill out the free surveys and booyah, instant points, and you are on your way to free games. and once again...THIS IS NOT A SCAM. promise. it works.

referrals work by you getting people to click on your banner or click your link. when they click on your link, the site they go to has your ref number in it...and thats how you get credit. btw, theres now videogamelagoon.com which is slightly better. you get amazon.com credit basically to put towards getting free games.
