pin-out to hook isolation transformer !! resolved !!
« on: February 12, 2007, 01:06:01 pm »
Hi I have a 25" WG monitor and it require's a isolation transformer and the set-up I have when it come's to the isolation transformer it appear's to be mounted on a old cherry master wood square with some old wire's fuse set-up and plug's and I was wondering if anyone know's a link to a pin-out where I can take the isolation transformer and hook it to the monitor and and put a new power cord on it and pehap's a inline fuse if there needed but I would like to elimate the non needed thing's and replace the old junky wire's with new but I have not toyed with these yet so i figured i would ask if anyone knew how to hook them up more directly and elimate the extra plug jack's and what not on the board.

Re: pin-out to hook isolation transformer direct to monitor and wall jack

Cool thank's that kinda helped elimate some thing's.

Is there a way to break it down even more?

I only need it to run the monitor only and nothing else.

It's not polar, so the outputs of the iso can just go to the blades of the outlet.

so I can hook the power cord right to the iso and then the monitor right to the iso from the other side or am I still not getting it. I learn fast by being shown or hand's on but not a very good reading learner  :'(

Yep... pretty much.

Should be two blades on the bottom and two on the top OR two on one side and two on the other.

Pick one pair for the power cord.
Use the other pair for the monitor.

I would still recommend having the fuse in there as well inline on one leg of the power cord.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

cool thank's guy's that is what I needed to know I wanted it straight wired only with what was needed and I will put the inline fuse in to be sure I was thinking of getting that in there anyhow just in case of a storm or something else silly lol

Check the blades on the ISO.  One side would (should) be marked as primary, the other secondary (or something similar: perhaps line and load).

Primary is the mains side..the power in.  Secondary feeds the monitor.

Why should this be locked/deleted?  Others may benefit from this.
