I just wanted to chime in and clear up a mis-conception. The ps3 does NOT have the same motion capabilities as the wii.
Two reasons for this.....
1. The wii has a light sensor on the front of the controller, which basically gives you "mouse" support.
2. Due to the physical shape of the ps3 controller it's six axis tilt technology, while idential to the wii's on paper, is rather useless. You can only hold the ps3 controller comfortably in it's normal configuration, meaning other than lame gimmick motion control, it is only useful for racing games and that is about it.
There will never be a "ps3 sports" because you can't hold the ps3 controller like a bat, you can't follow through like a bowling ball, and you can't swing it like a racket.
Read any review about ps3 games and their use of the motion controls in comparison to a wii one. Essentially, it is a gimmick on the ps3 and a viable control scheme on the wii. Don't expect cod3 on the ps3 to have any useful motion controlling schemes because the controller is so akward that it makes such a task impossible.
Btw, ps3 sales are still at a virtual stand-still, while wii's are still impossible to find. There are even reports by ign of vendors marking down ps3's to try to get them sold.
I wouldn't reccomend anyone getting a ps3 right now as at this point it looks like the next dreamcast. The only difference being the dc had a good library of titles when it died and you didn't pay 600 bucks for your dc.

I'm not trying to start a flame war, I just hate to see people throw 600 bucks at a ship that is obviously sinking (or at least it sure looks that way atm, it could turn around, you never know).
Sorry went out in left field there for a second.
The wii is only 250 bucks and it comes with a free game (a good game no less), has built-in wifi support, has a gamecube built in, can be used as an internet kiosk and takes up no space what-so-ever. On top of that the best zelda title to date is available for it along with at least a handful of really fun games. Also, because of the gamecube support, you can already run a ton of emulators on it, that is unless you'd rather pay 10 bucks for a 20 year old game in the VC.
To answer your question even if the wii died tomorrow and it never had another game produced for it it'd be worth the money.
Btw I'm also rather fond of trauma center. I think the key to liking it is liking japaneese text-based story games. The game itself isn't like that, but the story is conveyed this way and it turns off a lot of american gamers. I like the gameplay myself. As schmokes stated it is supposed to be a tense situation... you are saving a virtual life for god's sake.
