Problems launching SEGA Genesis & Atari from MAMEWAH
« on: December 28, 2006, 11:59:35 pm »
2 similar questions, answers to either one are greatly appreciated.
When I attempt to launch Sega Genesis the MAMEWAH screen doesn't change, but I can here the game theme playing (like the games playing in the background, but I can't see it).
Here's my ini:
Quote
### Execution Settings ###
emulator_executable                       G:\EMUs\SEGA\gens.exe
commandline_format                        "[rompath]\[name].[romext]"{nodosbox}{safelaunch}

When I attempt to launch Atari, the screen goes completely blank / black and I just hear a high pitched beep.
Here's my Atari ini:
Quote
### Execution Settings ###
emulator_executable                       G:\EMUs\Atari2600\Z26.exe
commandline_format                        "[rompath]\[name].[romext]"{nodosbox}{safelaunch}

I'm running MAMEWAH 1.61.

I currently have MAME, SNES, Virtual Pinball, and Future Pinbal running just fine from MAMEWAH, but I'm trying to add a couple additional emulators.

Thanks!  MPTech

MPTech hi.

I have Z26 (atari 2600) running successfully under Mamewah 1.61 and Mamewah 1.62b12.  At this moment I'm at work.  As soon as I'm home and have the oportunity, I'll post her both configs.

If you're interested, I have the Z26 version that has the same mame buttons config.

Cheers, :cheers:
Congui.

Thanks Congui, yes, I'd really appreciate it.  I don't know what version I have, I'll have to check.  I would prefer the same MAME buttons config.  please provide that as well (or a link so I can download it).  :cheers:

Any info on the SEGA?
What else do you have running under MAMEWAH?  I'll be adding more emulators later, just starting with these for the moment.

I use MameWAH 1.62b12 but you can adapt the settings for your version. I also, as most people do, use Kega Fusion for all the Sega platforms, as opposed to GENS. Here are links to all of my INI files:

Enjoy,

jcrouse THANKS!

that worked for SEGA. at first it was coming up in a window, then I added the "-gen -fullscreen" parameters and it looks great.

2 things to figure out next (I ran out of time tonite, we have about 30 people comin over for a party).

there are white numbers appearing in the lower left corner. for example 59.8 and it increments up and down a few tenths. never saw that before.

Also, I need to take the time to figure out how to map the buttons to my X-Arcade.  I'm looking for a Sega emu config menu. I'll check the KEGA site tomorrow, if you don't know off the top of your head.

THANKS again!  :cheers:

Go to options and uncheck "show fps"

Getting to options has NOTHING to do with MameWAH. It is a function of the emulator itself. Good advice is to always get the emulator setup and configured without using the front end. Then finish by setting it up properly in the front end. The front end simply LAUNCHES the emulator. All of the emulator configuration needs to be done within the emulator first.
