The 19" G07 in my Centipede cabaret seems to make those sounds like it's getting power, but I get no neck glow (and of course, no picture). I can hear the game playing blind and the self-test reports no beeps.

Fuses on the monitor are good.

I've been told to measure power related to the "B+" which I'll do tomorrow (when I have some daylight and can see!)

Any other tips on where a fault might lie?

Just wanted to post the resolution to this, in case anyone finds this thread by search: a Cap Kit fixed the problem.

Hi I'm new here, and I got exactly the same problem,
but the Monitor was working until I've shorten the big white resistor on the left.
My first problem was that I've got a jittery picture:

this problem is still existing, but now the monitor isn't working
I also installed a Cap Kit, but it doesn't help

Any ideas?

solvalou,your original fault is the sync or adjustments
you have probably broken a track of the circuit board during the resistor change that is causing your present problem

The resistor shows in one Moment a value of about 180 Ohm and then nothing!

where are you reading the resistor,on the legs or the track?

I measured at the legs
I don't tried it without yet, but with it, I've got high voltage, but now neck glow

its very possible you have damaged the circuit board track whilst changing the resistor,you need to check this first -look for tiny cracks or lifted track
perhaps it may be better if you make this a new thread

I didn't changed it!
I wanted to measure the voltage of the resistor and then I've maked a short circuit!
But at the end its the same, isn't it?

let me get this correct,
the original fault is the sync issue(the picture not locking)
then you did what exactly that caused a fuse to blow?

I've shorten the white resistor! Then the fuse was blowing up then I put a new one in and the neck glow was missing

well the only way you could have caused damage to the chaasis is if you have broken the track around the resistor(also check for solder splash) or you have blown a safety resistor to tube heater voltage-get yourself a schematic of the chassis and follow the circuit of the resistor because it will take you to the faulty component

short question,
when I am measuring the resistor, the multimeter is showing about 200 Ohm only for a second and in the next moment nothing!
Is this normal?

either the resistor is broken or the track is broken/or you have set your meter on the wrong setting
what value is written on the resistor?

I believe what he is trying to say is he accidentally "shorted" the resistor while trying to measure the voltage while power was on. Which probably took out the voltage regulator transistor or something. From the looks of the size of that resistor it is definetaly part of the power supply section. (which is why the monitor is completely dead now)

As for measuring the resistor and having it blink about 180-200 Ohm and then nothing, make sure your multimeter is on the proper setting to read the rating of that resistor. The rating should be marked right on the resistor itself. Also make sure you are reading from a good clean spot on the legs.
Also look for any burn or crack marks on the resistor.

I've got a wrong option at the multimeter.
I've tested the shorten resistor and the two excistig fused resistors, but they are all okay!

i think kevin is correct,you may have done some serious damage to the monitor its probably best for you to get a tv tech to look at the monitor

Ok, I was measuring with the diode test about 400 between the base and the collector and about 330 between base and emitter and 90 between emitter and collector
I think the transistor is death, isn't he?
