Can someone recommend a good CPU temperature program?

I'm getting concerned that my PC is running hot.  Does anyone know of or use a freeware program that gauges a PC's temperature?  Recommendations appreciated!

It's free with no limitations. It is a little wonky with my work's dell where it doesn't work correctly right out of the box. If you have a big mass produced type computer with a lot of funky proprietary hardware it might not be ideal.

You can try everest, but they stopped developing the home version. I think their commercial versions offer 30 days:

It will report lots of important statistics like gpu/chipset/cpu temps.

That's not the "official" page, just one of the first google links.  Google it for more info.  It's a great little program that will let you set up failsafes if your temps get too high.  Its compatible with most mobos.

Not only does it give temp, but a crap load of other info about your system that you normally wouldn't be able to see.

But if your system is shutting down and you suspect it's the temp, then I use Asus Probe. It runs in the background and you can have it record a log of the temperature. So then when you get a shut-down, you reboot, check the log and if the cause of the shutdown was the temperature, you'll see a spike in the log graph ...
