Gameroom Posters
« on: June 28, 2006, 03:45:01 pm »
I am looking to print out some arcade posters from game flyers to 18"x24", to frame for my gameroom.  I know they won't look crystal clear, but I picked a few with none to minimal text, so I think they will look pretty descent.  Anybody know where I can get these printed reasonably.  I had placed an order through WINKFLASH, thought it was a good deal at $35 shipped for all 4, but got an email today saying they cannot print them for copyright reasons.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Matt

Depends ...... what was the copyright issue the other company had?

Were they basically the original game flyer?

They were images I downloaded from arcadeflyers.net.  This is the email from winkflash:

Try a local print shop instead.

Try a local print shop instead.

Better results you will achieve if you know the owner

Yea knowing an owner would be nice.  I saw arcadegraphics, but they charge $35 a pop, so $140 for for posters was a bit more than I was looking to drop on these.  Guess I'll keep searching.

Cool link, thanks.  I was able to get them printed from www.zazzle.com.  They also sent me an email about the copyright, but all I had to do was tell them I owned the original flyers and they had no problem printing them for me.  I will post some pictures of them on the wall, after they arrive and I get them hung if anyone is interested.  Ended up costing a bit more, $80 for all four 18x24 prints, but oh well, only live once.

Well if anybody is interested, I got the posters from zazzle.com, and I think they turned out pretty great.  Have a few pictures of them here.

Indeed really nice. I especialy love the DK poster.

However, they did screw up on the Pitfall II poster, I mean,  I recognize the crock, but where's Pitfall Harry ?  :D

They look great!

No noticiable pixellation, since they are larger?

Also - where did you get the frames?

No not really any pixellation, the small text on the bottom of some of the flyers is a little on the blurry side, but still readable.  But that is why I tried to choose flyers that had large images and very little small text.  Picked up the frames at Michaels, think they were like $14 a piece, 18"x24" size fit the posters perfectly.

I'll have to call and complain about that Pitfall II poster, not only did they just print the crock but they printed it on a chalkboard, go figure.
