Input request on 2 different designs
« on: May 27, 2006, 03:47:03 am »
I'm looking for input on a couple of different designs.  I'm making a bartop cab with a profile of the basic shape below.  The artwork is sized about 2" smaller all around than the wood it is going on.  The cab will be light shiny grey with blue t-molding.

Bring on the rocks & tomatoes.  What do you you guys think?

You need to expand your horizons on your color choices. Here's one of my favorite tools: Color Schemer - just type in the RGB value of your main color (such as your background color) and the schemer comes up with a palette that works well with it. It was primarily disigned for websites, but it works well for menus, CPO's, etc.

I would suggest a bolder font for your text. It's possible to get the whimsical look you desire in a font with more visual weight.

Take the 3D textures off those paint splotches - paint may have depth, but not that much depth.

That looks way better theCoder, but it looks like you're blowing up a smaller oval causing "jaggies" around the edge. Try starting with a larger oval. Other than that, I like it a lot better than the first ones. Nice font choice, too.

It wasn't until I went to re size the image for upload when I noticed I started with a much too small canvas.  That's OK though, things go much faster the 7th time around.

Isn't that always the case?  ;D

I'm flattered that you decided to adapt my design. I'd still like to put in a pitch for blockier letters. The font I had in mind is something called "=fajita]Fajita" that really has the party mood. Sadly, it's not a free font.

So add a little confetti (in the form of little colored squares dots) and let the party begin!
