Also they have genuine Peter Chou 15 amp screw terminal power supplies on sale at $19.95 and Novus #2 polish for $3.79

Is that a good price for the 24.8" WG?

Yes, that's a good price. Betson has several offices all over the US so see which one is close to your location and pick the monitor up in person to save freight charges.

I bought the 27" multi-synch for 399 a few months back.  IF you BS a little with the sales person and mention that a "friend" got the 27 for 4 bills they might work with you.  Can't hurt.

Does anyone know about how much they charge for shipping to Rochester, NY?  I couldn't find it on the website, and I didn't want to sign up for an account yet.  Also, is that a decent monitor?  I need a replacement for my Continental Circuit cab that I picked up last week.

Continental Circuit uses a stand res horiz mount monitor. This Tovis 19" should work fine.

Betson has an office in Syracuse, NY (phone 1-800-541-1142). If you don't want to open an account there perhaps if you know a game operator with an account maybe you could pay that operator and have them get it for you? Of course I'm sure that if you walked into their parts department there with a wad of cash they'd have no problem selling to a cash-paying person regardless of whether or not you have an account.

Thanks for the info.  I wouldn't mind driving out to Syracuse.

How does the Tovis compare to the Happ Vision Pro that goes on sale for about $160 every once in a while?

I have never encountered a Tovis brand monitor before, but many video slot machine manufacturers are using Tovis monitors. Randy Fromm has some Tovis troubleshooting info on his site in the slot machine section.

From what I have seen in the Tovis service manuals (www.tovism.com) they appear to be ok monitors. I believe the one Betson is selling is the model MTG-1901CN with remote adjustment board.

TO EVERYONE:

I called betson today and spoke with a person in their parts department.  This sale is good through June, just a little FYI.

TO KEN:

They have both a standard K7400 and medium K7500 for sale.  I just wanted to make sure that you reccomend the K7400 because its more compatable with a majority of arcade machines, correct?

Yes, a K7400 is standard resolution 25" monitor. The vast majority of commercial arcade games use standard resolution.

The k7500 is medium resolution 25" monitor and it's only used in a handfull of commercial arcade games like Cruisin USA.

I didn't know Betson had any k7500 25" monitors in stock. Lots of people are looking for that model. I know 3 people right now that need that model for their Cruisin USA games.

I not positive they have them in stock however, the parts department in CA said she had thought she had them.  They were around $495 I think.

Ken you are correct (no surprise).  I checked w/ Betson today to verify the model... They don't have any in their stock (Baltimore) presently but will have in a week or so.  The rep did say they have them in other places... but for me Baltimore is close.

I'm going to pick one up asap.
Happy Gaming!

Anybody know if these 19" monitors need an isolation transformer?

Thanks Ken.  I may wait for the ProVisionII to go back on sale then.

By the way, the Happ Vision Pro is a Tovis monitor as well, according to the manual.

I get "vertical hold" and "vertical position" but what does "vertical lin" mean?

I checked out the schematics for both Happ and Tovis... they appear to be identical.

My mistake....after looking at the correct schematic (Tovis makes many monitor models), this monitor does indeed have a built-in switching power supply so NO ISOLATION transformer is needed.

After comparing the Happ and Tovis they are the same monitor so buy the Tovis from Betson as it's lower priced than Happ.
