MAMEWah Section?
« on: April 19, 2006, 03:56:11 pm »
Just curious here, and forgive me if this has been brought up before, but scrolling through the list of topics here, it looks like about 50% of the Software Section is made up of questions about MAMEWah.  If PowerMAME has its own section, shouldn't MAMEWah?

I think the number of Mamewah posts just shows how much I need to sort out some decent docs!  ::)

I think there should be a questionarre on your download page that rates a users computer competency. If you fail the test you're not permitted to download the software.

MAMEWah has a support forum on MAMEWorld. PowerMAME does not.
I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

Please read the wiki!

Maybe it's just me, but I find the layout of this forum much easier to navigate and read than MAMEWorld.  Is there a "view" setting that will collapse all the responses so that only the original topic is viewed?  I get  :dizzy: just looking at it.

Agreed.  These used to be my users and believe me, while half of them are quite competant and need legitimate help, the other half should have a court order banning them from using any electronic device, much less the powertools required to build a mame cab.  :dizzy: :dizzy:

YES, there is!!!

The layout use to drive me crazy for years until I figured it out a few months back.

In the upper right corner you will see some orange buttons.
Click on the MINUS "-" sign. It will collapse the thread.

Also create an account, that way you can see what you have already read...

Hope this helps.

There are all kind of user and everybody have right to legitimate help.  Each of us have been newbie at one point in time. And ask for stupid question. We are not born with computer science.  Of course sometimes guys are lazy and don't try to find by themself or don't search before asking, but why some guys would deserve help and not others.  ???

Why mamecab would be reserved only to an elite?   The newbie of today are expert of tomorrow. (at least some!  :) )

As BobbyG says...

The MameWorld board is actually friendlier to look at if you set to collapsed threads.  All newly replied to threads are highlighted to make it very easy to see what is new.  I find it much easier to work there than here in that respect...
