Console games on arcade cabinet

I am about to start building my cabinet and I am going to add support for my consoles. I was just wondering what unmamed arcade ports that everybody else is playing in their cabs. I am planning on playing some Gauntlet Legends and Die Hard Arcade and some of the newer fighters. What nonarcade games are you playing in your cabs? I know that some of my friends are looking forward to playing that new Mortal Kombat game in the cab. Anyone playing 4 player games besides Gauntlet Legends?

The one drawback that I see with the console integration is the analog factor. Most games I would want to play have on my cab have digital support, but some don't and sometimes even when they do it really hurts the gameplay. I looked up and down on this site and everywhere else and couldn't find anything that would seem to do the trick (short of buying $110 analog sticks and hacking them in). Please someone tell me I am an idiot and there is an easy solution.

The co-op mode of the console Baldur's Gate games, Champions of Norrath are quite enjoyable and arcadelike.

There's an easy solution!  I don't play console games that require analog support on my arcade.  The console games I play are mainly fighters and shooters.  I have a dreamcast and ps2 connected.  On the dreamcast, powerstone 2 is a good 4 player game.  So is virtua tennis.

My favorties include ps2 shooters like:
Gradius V
Mushihimesama
Espgaluda
DoDonPachi Daioujou
Ibara

Holy friggin crap man. How could I forget about virtua tennis? Thank you for reminding me.  That is like my all time favorite Dreamcast game. Good call on the shooters as well, I was planning on those. You mention, though, that you don't play games that require analog. That might be true, but although virtua tennis doesn't require analog it sure plays a hell fo a lot better with analog. Not running full speed everywhere helps sometimes. The same holds true for Gauntlet Legends. It's a damn shame that there isn't some console stick with with TRUE analog support that could be hacked into a cab.

I believe in the virtua tennis, using the analog stick is exactly the same as using the dpad.  It just maps the analog stick to the 8 directions of the dpad.  I always played virtua tennis using the dpad.  And I've played A LOT of virtua tennis.  I used to play virtua tennis againist my house mate almost every day.

Pretty much all arcade console ports do not "require" use of the analog stick.  So you shouldn't have a problem there.

If you are talking modern consoles: Playstation, Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube, Dreamcast you can use the XArcade  BYOA kit and console adapters. The BYOA kit has a button press (mode change) that will allow you to use digital controls for use in games that use analog controls. Given that it is a sort of emulation in that it is open or closed and not pressure sensitive like true analog it will make games playable but maybe not the same feel as true analog.

Yeah, I know about that. There are also some PS2 "Arcade" sticks that have a similar function, and I am pretty sure the Ultimarc IPAC console adapter do as well. I want the real thing, though.
