How to convert standard res to 55.2khz/60Hz?
« on: February 25, 2003, 10:50:02 pm »
I have a Neo-Geo MVS system with a blown monitor.  The MVS outputs to standard resolution: 15.72 KHz horizontal / 60.0 Hz vertical.

I also have an Integraph MDSP090xx monitor, which is fixed frequency at 55.2 KHz horizontal / 60 Hz vertical.

Is there any type of device that would allow me to convert the horizontal sync from 15.72KHz to 55.2 KHz?  Looking for "scan converter" in Google, I only see links about sending PC output to a TV.

Thanks!

Check the FAQ (www.arcadecontrols.com) under Monitors and look at the end for scan convertors.

Uh, thanks for the link?  That doesn't turn anything up.  I said in my original post that...

You could try to find an up-scan converter that would work. I think you're out of luck though, the horizontal refresh rate is just too high.  Most up-scan converters take 15kHz and put it to 31kHz, a few (ie the really expensive ones) will give options for resolution and refresh rates in the range of a normal PC monitor, and at 800x600 with a vertical refresh rate of 85Hz my PC monitor only uses 53.1kHz for horizontal, so I doubt you'll find one that works.
