19K7689 ?
« on: March 06, 2006, 08:27:08 pm »
I'm new here, so I'll start by saying Hi. I've got a Wells Gardner monitor that has serial # 19K7689, and it's set vertically in a stand up box (Capcom Bowling). My problem is that there are what look like horizontal shadows, or darker lines along the bottom of the screen. I have tried adjusting all the settings, but it didn't cahnge it at all. I was wondering if I should just get a cap kit, or if anyone has any other ideas. Thank you.

19K7689 is the model number, not the serial.

You mean it's dark on the bottom, and gets lighter as it goes to the top?

yes, but it's not an even change, it has noisable lines where it goes darker and lighter.

Think you can get a picture of it?

You have a k7000 series monitor and it sounds like it needs a capkit.

So that's the best pic I could get, and I forgot to rotate it, but I think you can get the idea, thanks for your help.

*Definitely* a cap issue.  Good news I'm pretty sure it's just one cap.  Bad news is I'm not sure which one on a 7600 series.  If you can get ahold of a cap tester/analyzer you can sort it pretty quickly.  But yeah, that's a classic sign of a bad cap.

Thanks for your help, I'm sure I can drum up something, and if not I'll just change them all, wouldn't hurt I figure.

I don't see a picture at the link you provided. All I get is a blank box. I'm on a 28k dialup connection.

This monitor is well known for needing a capkit so please install the kit. You'll be glad you did.
