Can't get high scores to work!

I'm using the latest version of mame32 and have downloaded the hiscore.dat file......   However I must not be smart enough to put it in the right place???

What's the proper file placement and procedure for getting the high scores to save themselves.

Here's the first couple of lines from my hiscore.dat:

;HISCORE.DAT Version 7.0
;Data for the hi-score routines of MAME
;This file should be in the same directory of MAME.EXE .

I double checked and I do have it in the same directory as MAME.EXE, and it's working fine.

Good Luck.

you got to remember that some games are not supported. Maybe the game you are trying is not supported.
