I must be the luckiest man alive.  I got a sports car last year and an arcade cabinet this year.  When my kids are a little older, I'm getting a boat.  My wife never tells me no.  She's also the biggest user of the arcade cabinet.  If scientist ever become proficient at cloning, perhaps I could sell copies of her.

BTW, some people will continue to hammer you into the ground if given only half a "free swing" to begin with.  This is not a male or female thing.  A friend of mine is a submissive husband.  His IQ is probably a good 30 points higher than hers.  He has no respect for himself because of it and an uncontrollable pre-teen son who senses it. 

It's not a pretty sight when things are out of balance and respect needs to go both ways.

Had a classic one a few nights ago.... user couldn't remember password to log in so she could use the attached scanner....  told user to come down to the helpdesk and she could reset her password in Active Directory....user didn't want to do that so she asked me to move the scanner to a different computer.... well duh... you still can't log into a different computer on the network to use the scanner

To get back to the original point of this thread (and yes, I know I'm late coming into it) I think there is one fundamental reason why men in there 30's have a problem sometimes getting wife approval.

The reason is this: Women grow up, men remain teenagers. (At least, that's what my wife tells me - okay dear, whatever!)

Yeah... I've done my best to perfect the seem-to-be-interested-while-focusing-elsewhere technique. You can't just parrott back what your wife has been talking about if she grills you. You have to have a frew generic phrases of comfort in your pocket to use to show you "care."

What men want; to resolve all problems.
What women want; to share all of their problems without resolving them. 

The best way to cope with that is to use the technique I mentioned above. I'd feel bad about it, but she just wants and understanding soundboard... since I don't understand anyway, I have to fake it.
