1984 Buick Regal Turbo with pretty high mileage. It was just about worn out when I got it and it lasted less that a year.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

1979 Chevy Nova with a 305 engine.  I still own it, actually, and it still runs.  I take her out every now and then.  It's fun to run up to the drive-in movie theater in it (has a huge bench front seat).  :)

Le Car - no sunroof, no heat, no A/C, no stereo.

Somehow Renault made it look appealing.

1986 Honda CRX (automatic, but modded to rev high). Man, I drove that thing crazy like.

Traded it in in '94 just as it was dying (burning coolant!) and got a 91 CRX which I am still driving today.

NO MORE!!

1976 Chevy Impala.  Quart of oil a day and it was good to go.  Just electrical problems.  Required my buddy to hold my Mag Lite out the side so we could see where we were going once.

I called him Johann, for this was a MAN car!

my second was a 74 oldmobile delta 88 that thing was a tank and had a 455 rocket under the hood

My first car was an 83 Subaru hatchback that I rolled after having it about 6 months.

My second car was  74 Delta 88 with the 455 rocket.  Loved that car.  Wish I still had it.  Funny how similar our stories are.....

Bones,

Please don't tell me it was a '69 Charger, if it is... I despise you and everything you stand for, but  I love your car, I want your car.

Tim

bones Charger would have been a Valiant Charger. Valiant were a brand owned by Chrysler. The Aussie charger

http://www.ergonomics.com.au/pages/500_about_us/charger.htm

didn't look the same as the Dodge Charger

http://www.allpar.com/model/charger.html

. Actually i think ours looked better! They came in slant 6 and hemi models as i guess the american ones did too. however the aussie charger was slightly smaller and actually did better in racing with the six than the eight (probably a similar situation to e-type jags being better with the twim cam six than with the twleve)  and are worth a lot more nowadays.

bones, did your car have hair oil stains on the head-liner? ;D

enough about bones. now its about me (",)

my first car was a 1968 ford cortina mkII. bought it for $150. all it needed was a generator, a carby and a couple of tyres. I probably should have died in that car. It could just make the old 'ton'. one day i was i was doing a 100mph and a goanna walked out onto the road and like an idiot i swerved for it. instead of rolling, the car broke into a skid and spun several times down the road! the goanna kept on walking. badly shaken, i drove VERY slowly home  ;D the things you do when you're 16...

sold it a year later for $600  and for some reason bought a triumph 2500 saloon.

Yes, danny is right. I don't think there was an Australian Charger prior to 1971.

I also agree..... The Aussie version was much better looking, it also went harder. 14.2 seconds for a quarter mile straight out of the factory and on 35 year old rubber.

Another pic of my baby now lost in time.

My first car was a 1970 Buick Skylark (chevelle SS type body) 350 engine after witch i added some headers and flowmasters with a nice intake and carb... needless to say those cars were boats but can put you back in your seat like nothing ever made. Most first cars for first time drivers are crap but that baby like most other guys with a classic... wish i held on to her.

Nothing like American muscle, better than a farriari, trust me.

Imagine a 17yr in that beast, king of the world.

Now thats poetic.  :'(
