The Matrix: Path of NEO (XBox).
« on: December 27, 2005, 04:08:03 pm »
....for the first time in a very very long while...I actually devoted a few hours straight to a game over Christmas.

The Matrix: Path of Neo is a ton of fun!.....

If you can rent it, or pick it up cheap I think you'll have a good time with it. The moves are pure Matrix over the top....and while it's fairly easy....It's so much fun to beat the heck out of 50 or more attackers surrounding you!....the moves are super fluid....and a blast to watch in motion.

It's truly the first game in a while since the original Halo that really kept my attention.

Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?

Im glad you liked it.  I wasnt impressed with it.  The graphic are just plain bad and all the glitchs in the game just killed it for me.

But to each his own.

I was thinking of getting the path of neo but instead went with a cheaper title area 51 also for xbox.  though i am intrigued by the fighting off 50 attackers.

OK...to give a quick update...I've been playing this game with every free moment I have at home (my wife is not happy with this by the way!).....and I'm still having a blast.

I've about 60% done w/the the game. And yes...there are a few glitches here and there....but kicking the butt of Agent Smith is awesome!

This is worth at least a rental!  ;D

uh...back to the Matrix for a second...I just finished it.

I can't recommend this one enough. It had great visuals, fun game play and some really really funny bits that are worth the admission fee.

Wait until you fight in the movie theater!...genius!.....

The "new" ending was neat.....and less dramatic than the movie....but they had an "explination" as to why they changed the ending for the game.

Suffice to say it was fun.

Enjoy!

....and Happy New Year!!!

To try and keep this offtopic....  =)

Price of persia the sands of time is fantastic.  I enjoyed it more than a lot of games out there for the xbox.

2004 Christmas I got PoP warrior within.  I jsut couldn't get into it, I got to the 3rd level or soemthing before quitting and ultimately selling it.  I thought they emphasized all of the "action" stuff from the original but did away with a lot of the puzzle/exploration stuff that I liked the most.  Oh yeah and there's no intro, no story really at the beginning, you're just thrown into the middle of it.

I was disappointed.

Is the 3rd one better?  I heard it's about inbetween but would like to hear an opinion that I trust more than some random journalist.  =)

I haven't played the third yet, but it's pretty much universally being touted as completely redeeming the series.  I, like you, haven't been able to get into WW like I did the original.  I'm pretty far into it, but I'll play it for a few hours and then go weeks or months without playing it, then one day I'll think...."hmm...maybe I'll give that another go..."  and so on.

One of the big problems with WW is that they got rid of the magical feeling of the first one and tried to give it a badass feeling.  So they replaced the Prince with someone who sounded like the Marleboro Man and put a ridiculously out-of-place heavy metal soundtrack into it, plus they upped the difficulty level considerably.  It wasn't nearly as good.

Now that the third one is getting such high praise, and specifically because everyone's saying that they brought back the feeling from the first game and got rid of the badass prince, I really want to complete WW so that I have the whole story before playing the third, and last, chapter of the Sands of Time series.  Which isn't so hard.  It IS a good game.  If there never was a Sands of Time to compare it to, in fact, it would be a spectacular game...

Yeah, the first POP (i mean the PC platform version rocked).

The second one and the first 3D version sucked.

They totally redeemed themselves with Sands of time and haved taken a dive with WW.
I'll still have a bash at it but shmokes is right when he sez that the magical feel is gone from WW.
Now in a tasty new flavour.
