seeing as how this is directed squarely at what I said to you... I feel the need to respond.

My main point was that your posts here have NO CONTENT whatsoever. This forum is full of nonsense, and we love joking about EVERYTHING... however... there has to be something there in the first place.

Throw some politics in and see people go nuts. Show us a funny article and count the number of posts it takes to get completely derailed.

You just throw crap into a thread for no reason. I have no problem laughing about or at myself... I do it all the time, as does pretty much every person that frequents EE.

Don't feel sorry. I was just voicing my opinion that you don't need to make a random thread every 10 minutes. Keep it to one insanely random, useless thread, like the rest of us do.

Not defending the 3 day ban either way.... But it must be a little overwhelming to be the new guy and trying to find your place amongst a community of regulars. I feel he was probably just a little anxious to speed the natural settling-in process. The fact is you can get away with things when your identity is understood that a newbie can't.

You gotta show respect before you can attack/joke with people or it just comes off poorly. This takes time....

I think mostly the cultural thing. Imagine partipating in a Hebrew forum (assuming you could speak Hebrew), be prolly quite a different type of humour there...."Ya Ya Deefer Deefer" can be interpreted so many ways...

Yeah that's a fair point, but there was one comment in particular that I found lacked reasonable judgement based on the previous thread postings.

It would appear this is what set the timer off.

He should read my posts in EE and the nice welcome you guys have given me so far for an example of how to slowly acclimate to this culture of insane weirdo freaks. Oops did I just say that? Takes one to know one I guess. Anyway, so far I like the relatively low level of drama on this board (all of BYOAC not just EE) and I hope this particular situation doesn't get out of hand. It seems there is solid, gentle moderation here which is a must for a happy forum.

no one here is out to get any newbie here, If you read through a few threads you will see we give each other crap all the time some of it you may not notice or understand because they are either inside jokes or point to things that have happened in previous post. Once you are here a while and have kept up with post in different threads you will begin to understand some of our humor. it isn't something you instantly get.
